What: President-Elect Donald Trump's healthcare reform platform
https://www.donaldjtrump.com/positions/healthcare-reform
Why: Love him or despise him, he's the president-elect and as leaders we have to think about what he is proposing. As a libertarian leaning thinker, I like a lot of what he has to say. Actually implementing any of them would create huge impacts in healthcare delivery and in the economy. Regardless, you should know what his proposals are.

What: How to Build Self-Discipline Lesson #1: How to Form a Habit
https://youtu.be/x4fsbGAiocI
Why: Based on Martin Meadow's book Grit. We're in the season of over indulgence and recommitment. This short video invokes Duhigg's Power of Habit, which I liked quite a bit. I have not actually read Meadow's book, but I downloaded it and intend to check it out. The idea that good behavior really comes down to habit is pretty well established. We only have so much cognitive capacity at any given time - so we offload much of our decision making to habit. If you want to live a healthier, more productive life, it's critical to consciously build good habits. I wish I could say I was a good role model, but I cycle through good habits like most people. There are some good tips in this video.

What: Health Leader Forge Policy Special: Hodder on Current Health Policy Issues
http://healthleaderforge.blogspot.com/2016/11/policy-special-hodder-on-current-health.html
Why: I'm pretty excited about this! After the election, I had a meeting with my dean and he asked me before the meeting what I thought would happen with the ACA. Honestly, I'd been so focused on so many other issues, I hadn't given it a lot of thought. I stammered out some thoughts off the cuff, but realized I really wanted to dig deeper. So I reached out to my colleague, Lucy Hodder, from the UNH Law School, and she agreed to do this special podcast looking at the current state of health policy and where it might go in the future. I'd love to hear what you think of this!
